| Its pretty obviously a reference to the many species most notably the crow who drop pebbles into puddles to raise water height. We as humans did it too to raise our wells. It's about progress as a civilization and how we are endlessly competing with ourselves to be the best in technology or art or music etc. No matter how hard we try we can't quite catch up because we're always getting better. The stumbling and running over broken glass are the many bumps in the road, yet we still strive for greatness and continually fall short. | |
