I think he is talking partially about suicide. I believe he is talking about he was so insecure and lost that he didn't have anything to live for. I think he's talking to someone he trusts (maybe loves) and he is asking them to save them if they think he is worthy , and if he's not , just let him go and die . I believe that he's saying he's giving up some security by letting his guard down and hopefully he will get full security with this person because of it. He is truly depending on this person.
