This song reminds me of my ex-boyfriend Alex. My first love. He lived in the United Kingdom so it was a jet lag. But we loved each other so much. We'd stay up all throughout the night talking to each other. Sometimes I didn't get sleep for my college classes. I'd text him during class when he'd got out of work. We both had depression but when we were together we promised to never be sad and never to hurt ourselves again. It worked. It was the best 6 months I've ever had. We both started talking about were we wanted to live because we both didn't like were we live. We both said Australia. I said it as a joke because I can't stand the sun. But we both agreed to it. We'd one day meet and move there. We both have a creative mind so we daydreamed about our life together. Meeting each other for the first time. Having kids. Which would look like who. Having a cute dog and a tire swing connected to a big tree next to a house with a big porch. Everything was descriptive. Everything was perfect. I was so high up in love I didn't suspect anything wrong. One day something happened and I don't what started it. He changed and got angry. After 30 minutes of him arguing he dumped me. 30 minutes of him yelling. 30 minutes of confusion. 30 minutes of tears. 30 minutes of the last time I'd hear or see his face again. 30 minutes. Gone That was it. I was heart broken for a year and a half. For some reason even when I don't know the date I still get depressed whenever it's the 28th because that's the day we met. I miss staying up till 7am and struggling to stay awake in class. Texting him during classes. Being weird and fun whenever we video chatted. I miss those memories. I miss him so much. I don't know what went wrong. I feel haunted by him at times.. Anyway this song is pretty easy to find the meaning. A girl can't get over an ex boyfriend. No matter what. People calm down! I hate homophobic people but this song isn't offensive to me, a bi-sexual girl and my gay guy friends. In fact we love it, once in a while we'll sing it together. She is just stating that her ex-boyfriend was very girly and at times she wondered if he was gay. She isn't hating on gay people. Gay men happen to be more feminine and lesbians happen to be more masculine. So gay in this song is just saying that he is really feminine. Her intentions wasn't to hurt the feelings of gay people. This song isn't a serious song, I mean come on. Have you heard the ending? "And you don't even like........... PENIS" Because shouting penis at the end of a song makes everything even more serious. And everyone freaking out over this being a "homophobic" song you're a too serious person. If you're one of the people freaking out, I bet you've made a racist joke or laughed at one before. So if you think that this song is hurtful you're a hypocrite. |
