I feel that this could have two meanings. First, it could be about suffering from depression. There being so much pain and fear in her wake, she "surrenders to the sleep." "So far or right beside me So close but they can't find me Slowly, time forgets me I'm lonely, only dreaming" When you're depressed, you have low energy and are always sleepy and such. As she sleeps more, her loved ones are out living without her and having fun, while slowly forgetting her. She's lost in her dreamland, but she didn't realize it. *cough cough* That interpretation makes no sense... ___ It could also be about a person with, let's say, avoidant personality disorder. She's always spending time by herself, daydreaming, in her own little world. When she's with other people, she's anxious and scared. She drifts out of consciousness and spends her sleep in that same world that she's carefully constructed to suit her tastes. In her world, she is immortal, so she doesn't have to feel scared. |

Somehow I feel that this is related to I Feel Immortal. The previously mentioned song could be about falling into depression or suffering from it. This song, I believe, would be about being treated for her depression, and becoming happy again. After overcoming it, and not wanting to go back to it after all that's been done for her. |
