This interpretation is a little out there. The first two lines, in particular, sound to me like she's depressed because she's spending too much time dwelling on the past. I think the small town in her mind is an imaginary town populated by the memories of important people and moments in her life that changed her and even different versions of herself as she grew up. "how could I leave without hurting everyone that made me" could be a struggle to face forward and enjoy the present while being afraid to ignore her past and forget about all the things she's learnt and the people who changed her. Maybe some of the people are no longer in her life and she's afraid she might somehow hurt them by not keeping them in her memories and forever close to her. She wishes that her camera wasn't broken so that she could have snapshots of all of her important memories or something physical to remind her of all of the different parts of her life. That bit in the middle where she sings "Stop, stop, what's the hurry? Come on, baby, don't you worry, worry. Everybody not so nice, nice" Could be an indecisiveness (or even the voices of her memories arguing with her) about leaving her past behind her, since she could be using her memories as a cushion against the harshness of reality and mean spirited people. Alternatively; if the first line is "I must have LEFT a thousand times" it could be about leaving an actual place or a long time relationship and the small town in her mind could be a representation of how torn she is: There are so many different things to consider that there seems to be a small town full of people in her mind, all with different opinions on the topic. In either case the line "it's all about the moon." could be there because these are things that keep her up at night. The moon could be what usually arouses the sense of nostalgia. In my mind the moon is a symbol of loneliness for obvious reasons like it being a lone figure in the night sky and wolves howling at the moon and so on. |

| This reply is 4 years late but; if you really really like something then it's better not to criticize it... sure it's a sign of being down to earth and reasonable, but if you're critical about all the things you like then you just ruin it for yourself | |
