Well I feel like everyone above has a point, music is a great thing because you can interpret it however you would like. But everyone is missing the true essence of pepper. Yes its a messed up relationship, but no the guy isn't feeling bad about what is happening and no the girl isnt playing him(honestly guys? have any of you seen pepper live? I have never heard of them talk about the girl that got away. This isn't some emo band.) He is either using a girl as a drunk hook up, or he is just using the girl as a way to get sex. Either way it isn't about a bad relationship for him. It’s more than less about him using the girl to get what he wants. And the way she is reacting to it. He is getting exactly what he wants and she tries to make him feel bad about it. I can hear your soft, soft voice sliding down the walls And I feel a green light kissing my face (The soft voice sliding down the walls is him hearing the voice but not truly listening to it clearly cause he isn't paying attention, but he is seeing the signals and they are telling him to go for it(green means go).) Tell me when you wake up is this where your gonna be (when you wake up tomorrow will you be in my bed) You don't think I'll notice but I can wait for you to leave ( The girl realized it was a mistake and is leaving thinking he wont notice and might actually care. But really he doesn't want her there anyways; he got what he wanted and doesn't want the awkward next morning.) But either way he is indulging in it.) Yet will still yell at him for it. And he is just crushing her dreams of it actually working out, killing her self esteem) You can run, but the scars you can never hide Oh your face is giving you away (She can try and hide the truth but it will always show on her face) And the truth hurts more than the matter And the sun screams louder at night (The fact of the matter is that she will always come back for more. And it will always show up when she is desperate at night.)
