The National – Sorrow Lyrics 14 years ago
"It's in my honey, it's in my milk"
I think this a reference to the promised land in the Bible ("a land flowing with milk and honey").

The National – Anyone's Ghost Lyrics 14 years ago
Whoa. Connection. In "Wake Up Your Saints," the opening lines are

"I had a hole in the middle
Where the lightning went through
I told my friends not to worry
My wife would know how to fix it"

But here there's no mention of a wife. Also in "Wake Up Your Saints,"

"I didn't have to explain to her
That I wasn't dead"

Connection to the whole ghost thing? I don't know how to interpret any of this, I just noticed the connections.
