| The Shins – No Way Down Lyrics | 13 years ago |

An initial interpretation after only listening to the song twice; I would say it's about the western world and it's delusions. "We" come up with different rules. Invisible slaves (mortgages, loans etc) leaving only a few having all of the fun in the end. Is there no way down? Can't we find a way to see what really is without having to pull out gold teeth out? Find compassion and still keep our way of living. * "What have we done? * How'd we get so far from the sun? * Lost, lost in an oscillating phase * Where a tiny few catch all of the rays" "Out beyond the western squalls" it's different. (Buddhism). |

Why hasn't someone corrected these lyrics yet? You can clearly hear they are wrong. But then again, maybe I'm the one who's wrong. English is my third language. Just the second line I can't really make out. How will it turn out? ??? needs a waiting out On the way to that dead hotel Your silent empty life Falling into their pretty hands All of them androids have a One days flight They take you back in time To when it wasn't such a Brand across your breast A strain upon your back When a good life was enough Would it be so wrong Danny needs you up in his place Can your batteries replace this heart? Lying in the yard Wanted it to be natural love A son for a mother Dreams float up Through fissures in the floor Adding new dimensions Leaving only parts to play Needs are forming again A good life would just never be enough Dreams float up From fissures in the floor Adding new dimension Leaving only parts to play Needs are forming again A good life will never be enough. A good life will never be enough. A good life will never be enough. |

You can fake it for a while, Bite your tongue and smile, Like every mother does »» HER «« ugly child. But » IT STARTS TO « leaking out, Like spittle from a cloud, Amassed resentment pelting ounce and pound. You're entertaining any » DOUBTS «, 'Cause you had to know that I was fond of you, Fond of Y-O-U, Though I knew you masked your disdain. I can see » THE « change was just too hard for us, Hard for us. You always had to hold the reigns, But where I'm headed, you just don't know the way. So affections fade away, or do adults just learn to play The most ridiculous, repulsive games? »» ALL OUR FAVORITE «« ruddy sons, And »» THEIR «« double-barreled guns, You'd better hurry, Rabbit, run, run, run. 'Cause mincing you is fun, And there's a lot of hungry hatters in this world set on taking it over but brittle, thorny stems, They break before they bend, And neither one of us is one of them. |
