This song is about a long distance relationship ("Every step you're further away from me"). He doesn't feel as confident ("I grow more unsteady on my feet") when they're apart. He expressed his love for her ("I have been blessed by your grace and care") and he can't wait until he can be with her again ("it calls me back to the safe arms that I know"). I interprete "There's a place for us sitting here waiting for the sun" as the two of them waiting to be with each other again. The sun being a place of light and warmth, which is metaphorical of the warmth and love of being together. Powderfinger's song "My Happiness" is also about a long distance relationship, but instead of waiting to be together, it's about when they get to reunite again then separate once more. |
