obviously there are no right/wrong answers and i agree with everyone. but i also think that this song has a lot to do with the punk scene in general. of course it's still mainly focused on how we need to make a change in how the world is being run but i love the against me reference to teenage anarchist. the reason they made that song was because it was like their last testament to them being a punk band and they pretty much talked about how they gave up on it but here Tim tries to convince us that the punk community is still very much alive and we can still make a difference. i think in the last bit he even suggests that its even stronger today than it was before: "yea we still believe in all the things that we stood by before, and after everything we've seen, maybe even more" |
