Here are the lyrics taken from the Parenthetical Girls website: Memorize the angles of your face And tape record the way you say my name Relate the way you smell and taste To tangibles no absence can erase Forget about the words you've said and meant As words mean very little in the end These memories made fresh i will defend And i promise that i won't forget again With feral fingers I will trace And render all your features in their place And pray that in the fruits have dogged faith There's something fatal fate cannot outpace The shallow rise and fall behind your chest A vacancy that lingers like like the debt Collapsing in the cadence of your breath A lifetime looking forward to forget Were I to exploit these memories (e.g. the space that's just above your knees) (i.e. indulge some vulgar need) I'd hope that you'd forgive me |

| That "post-fuck" part made me laugh so hard. Gotta love Zac's lyrics! | |
| Bob Dylan – Mama, You Been on My Mind Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I think people are seeing more to this song than there really is. It is NOT about unrequited love, unsatisfied desires, frustration or passion. I think cavern put it quite well; it's just a feeling. Nothing overwhelming. He's not upset that he's no longer involved with her: "where you been don't bother me or bring me down with sorrow. I don't even mind who'll you be waking with tomorrow. Mama, you're just on my mind." It's just a thought. Nothing more. If anything, I think he's GLAD to be done with her. "I'd just be curious to know if you can see yourself as clear as someone who has had you on his mind." He is aware of all of her flaws; he's wondering if she has realized them, too. |

Life sings a heavy song I put my wolf suit on And I howl all all the night I run around and lose lose my mind To where the wild things are I go where the wild things are I take a boat all year long And there's monsters that are chasing me all day long But I ain't afraid of where the wild things are I go to where the wild things are There I'll be king of them all Where the wild things are These are the correct lyrics as listed on Patrick Watson's website. |
