Should be "wanton" acts of sin. Please, let's not dumb down Martin Gore. It's straight off the Depeche Mode website. |

It's slang - ya know: If I were you, I would put your pretty dress on. Not that HE would put them on, he's telling her, get dolled up and let's find some trouble or fun to get into. When I was younger I misunderstood and thought he was going to put them on, and that always sounded like a lot of fun, but I digress, this one isn't pervy, just teen angst. |

Seriously, I think the kiddies have gotten their hands on this site now too. Ah, too bad. You guys are trying too hard to make this sexual. I think there are some hidden meanings but - EVEN PER SQUEEZE - this is about him in his youth on vacation with his folks. William Tell having good aim - good lord, people. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. I think of a child thinking of William Tell as a badass - not someone who needs good aim to get it in... that sounds like someone that never has if you ask me. Remember, this wasn't written BY a 12 year old but maybe remembering being 12. William Tell and Maid Marion - people you would fantasize about as a kid... her on tiptoes, I would say would be kissing - the man is often taller. Holiday complete - kissing. It may be hard to believe but everyone wasn't doing it when they were 12 years old. ;) I just think Squeeze is smarter than everyone is making them. |
