I feel this song is actually about technology in general, particularly the Internet and social media today and how society has become so woven into it. It's also about how people can use the Internet for good or "evil": "You can be all you desire" "An honest man, a vicious liar" "Seek out the Light or seek the Dark" "Enslaved and hypnotized" "Chained to artificial lives" Refers to how people are practically addicted to social media like Facebook and their electronic lives. The rest of the lyrics also speak about how certain people use technology and the Internet. Overall, an incredibly awesome and timely song, the solo and the harmonized riff that comes after it are just incredible. |
