I can't tell exactely what this song is about... I do know it's quite visual to me, especially: "So the man took a shotgun out of the trunk, waited on the hood with the headlights on, radio was playing christmas songs". This line gives me a very strong image and the overal feel of the song is almost melancholic. Something has happened to this person, but you don't know exactely what and why. Maybe the mantra of "forget what you don't know yet" means this person feels paranoid, scared of the world without really having a valid reason, or maybe having a reason but it's a secret to the rest of the world. The idea of paranoia is stenthened by the lines: Later on he thought he saw something, realized he never saw anything, now he drives with his headlights off." Really love this song... it's calm, but there's a lot of stenght hidden in that calm, like the calm before a storm sort of feeling. |

This song gets me very tense, the first part of the song is quite creepy, which resonates with the title: Ambulance chasing. I often appreciate lyrics in songs, but this is one of the few songs that's definitely better off without lyrics, the music says enough! Eerily beautiful. |
