I just heard this song for the first time. This song reminds me of an article I just read, where this girl has this very bad crush on a guy and he is married (though she was told he was single- otherwise she wouldn't even have looked his way in the first place) and so his wife sets her up and drags her through the mud because she believes she is trying to steal her man. The man and wife and other friends had a wonderful time hurting this woman who was just confused in the first place. This woman was married and should not even have looked at this man however, so God punished her very badly. So badly, in fact that she cried every single day for a year because she felt very bad that she hurt anyone in the first place and that she acted like such a fool, and that the people she liked so much, hated her. So, she decided to stay away from all of them, and be by herself, because the whole thing was wrong in the first place, and a big spider web was spun. Now she didn't trust anyone. In the end however, she wished them all the best, and if they ever wanted to be just friends one day, she would open the FRONT door for them, and would let it all go, so life could move on. She was a very good person and had a big heart, she was just going through a dumb phase. Yea, that was an interesting article. Crazy how people get caught up in stupidity. He has a great voice this singer! |

I think this man is at war within himself. He has an inner conflict between his head and his heart. He sees this same phenomena within a woman (the queen of spades) and uses his tarot to try to manipulate her fate. Perhaps if she wins, it is a victory for himself as well. Everything he is telling her, he is also saying to himself. His disdain for her, is his own judgment against himself, not her. She is a mirror image of him.I think this man is playing with forces he does not understand. He starts out by trying to manipulate her fate, but then the game takes on a life of its own. And now they are both lost within the land of the tarot. |

This song is clearly about the fact that people seem to have all the answers and complicate everything! The truth is, Bob knows that most people are walking zombies not realizing who and what they really are...they are basically unaware of their own spirit that is/or should be alive within them. They are dead and they don't even know it, therefore they are angry, and blame God....when in reality it is their own fault, and all they have to do is WAKE UP!!! |

"The flower was bending toward the farmer".Seems like the flower saw something different in him. Something more than just weeds she was used to looking at. I guess she bent toward him because she was looking for friendship. But perhaps the farmer was being malicious when he picked her. Maybe he was secretly sitting around with his wife and friends making fun of her for months. Maybe he felt she didn't really belong in his garden in the first place. So, he plucked her out. But then he saw that she wasn't so bad.... after all, she was in fact just a FLOWER. I mean, it must have been some kind of flower to actually grow amongst weeds! Think about it! It was the farmer himself who actually wilted that flower, and not the weeds. When the flower finally realized what the farmer had done, and how they all betrayed her, when all she wanted was a friendship, she wilted and died.
Finally, the farmer realized that the flower was in fact kind, and beautiful. She had a lot to offer, and brought a new perspective to his dreary garden of just weeds. And when he finally realized what he had done, of course it was too late. And so really... the flower that he wilted was his own flower inside of himself. He in fact, was his own worst enemy. |
