| Porcupine Tree – Trains Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I think I have figured the song as a whole. I believe its about a man leaving his lover for war. 'The hiss of the train at the railway head'- trains these days don't hiss but steam trains do. the second verse 'A 60 ton angel falls to the earth A pile of old metal, a radiant blur Scars in the country, the summer and her'--a plane is the angle(wings)that falls to the earth, war(Scars in the country) he has to leave to go to war on the train, the train is significant because that was the last time he saw his lover. Im not sure if it is war he is leaving to, but I can not think of another explanation. |
