"Hello again, friend of a friend," Form this it is obvious that they met through a friend and finally met again in some way "I knew you when Our common goal was waiting for the world to end" The twist that I thing is in these lyrics the "world" ending may be a relationship that had been between the two people. "Now that the truth is just a rule that you can bend You crack the whip, shape-shift and trick the past again" And the relationship, "world" is ending because of the other person being so manipulative. "i'll send you my love on a wire" This is obvious again, the person is still in love with them though and keeps wanting to show it "Lift you up, everytime, everyone, ooo, pulls away, ooo From you" So every time that the person runs back to them, because other friends and people "pulls away" from them, the person can't help but to take them back again and lift them up to make them feel better even though the same thing keeps happening. "Got balls of steel, got an automobile, for a minimum wage Got real estate, I'm buying it all up in outer-space Now that the truth is just a rule that you can bend You crack the whip, shape-shift and trick, the past again" Now this part is the confusing part only because it makes me think that one the person actually thought about it they were tired of getting manipulated and said now more and went off to make a life for themself. "I'll send you my love on a wire Lift you up, everytime, everyone, ooo, pulls a way, oo Mechanical bull, the number one You'll take a ride from anyone, everyone wants a ride, pulls away, oooh from you" and they are now saying, "I still love you and when everyone else is using you, you'll remember what you had with me, but now you have lost this." That is just what I think |
