i love this song too... i think it's about an ex girlfriend or a current girlfriend who is a perfectionist. She's going through a tough time in her life at the moment (maybe friends have betrayed her, family, stress/pressure of study/work and relationship issues). He and her have had a fight and she's sinking into depression. That needle or damaging blade could be her constant criticism of herself, and others in her life (she expects too much and is always dissappinted and frustrated). He's telling her to relax, enjoy life and smile. Forget the stress as life is short- he wants her to have fun with him.That's my take on it anyway! :) |
