Swearing At Motorists – Not Tonight Lyrics 14 years ago
I love Swearing at Motorists, but this song is basically his way to convince himself that the loss of this relationship is rooted in external circumstances:

"I'm not doing anything to you, this is happening to us"

All of us have "mobile phones, electric letters." Take some responsibility, man!

Scout Niblett – Wet Road Lyrics 14 years ago
The lyrics are great, and more complex than you give her credit for. It's basically a song about a doomed relationship.

She has already captured him and just wants to be with him. For her, that could be paradise.

The "wet roads" on the way to his house signify the problem, because he's the one who doesn't know how to "play with what [he's] given".

That explains the somber end to the song: this relationship is "only for a little while." While she wants to share a space with him, she also realizes that the "wet roads" will make it difficult if not impossible to sustain this relationship.

Just a theory.

PJ Harvey – No Girl So Sweet Lyrics 14 years ago
To me it seems more like a song about two people who found each her. She doesn't seem to understand why this guy still wants to be with her since she sees herself as a burden on him. She's almost attacking him for wanting to be with her despite what she perceives as her own flaws.

And yet - if you read the actual lyrics from the sleeve and not the flawed version on this page - you see that as far as he's concerned, she's perfect: "There ain't nothing no girl so sweet, Took her from heaven and gave her to me..."
