i just really love 10 years and think they are one of the greatest bands out there!!! every song they come out with i fall in love with. but i was really stuck on what this song could possibly actually be about. And had no idea about the article about an interviewer asking about this album. and would of never in a millon years guess or interpret that it was about the music industry!! thats crazy i thought for sure it might had something to do with like maybe some kind of war, type of violence, or maybe a certain era of some sort, i dont know! but it just goes to show you that songs can mean the complete opposite of what you think or everyone else thinks they could mean!! i would of never figured out that those lyrics meant that. example feeding the wolves is a metaphor for musicians having to feed the music industry machine. and that shoot it out, means record companies just want bands to shoot out singles. whatever this song means i love it just like i love all their other songs!!! |

i agree with armedm!! i couldnt believe that nobodys hardly posted anything about this song! i fell in love with it the first time i ever heard it and i love 10 years. all their songs are the awesome but this one is my favorite. its kinda of funny but i dont even really care what it could be about it just simply is awesome and are some really great lyrics. im sure they mean something and they know for sure but the lyrics are written so good it could mean whatever you want it to be. its deep and absolutely just love this band, they are BEST band out there since they came out and still to this day!!! |

i accidently heard this song and cant even remember how i heard it but just automatically liked it. i could never figure out what the hell it was about all i knew or thought was it was definately about something depressing. while i agree with maniacle's 1st version, after reading gogators theory.. i totally think that could be what it means!! my dad died in a car accident 1 month before i turned 13 years old. and how gogators interpretation of the rest of the lyrics is absolutely identical to how i felt at that time in my life!! i can remember when i returned to school i felt that no one understood what i was mentally and emotionally going through. i would look at the other kids and wish i could be like them (not knowing what it feels like to lose a parent suddenly) and be jealous of them because they had both of their parents still. and didnt have to endure all the pain and misery that came along with it. i felt alone and wanted to die literally!! maybe the song doesnt necessarlly mean its about his parent dying but it could definately be about a death of a friend or someone. i dont know but i knew there was something about this song that drew me to it and couldnt put my finger on it exactly or even figure out what the hell it meant but i think i might of got an idea!!! |
