King Crimson – Three Of A Perfect Pair Lyrics 2 years ago
I found this reply I wrote to your comment in 2014 that I never sent:
Well thank you, it’s not often I get complements for words I rarely share with others. I would be hard pressed to say what prompted me to create that login just to write that interpretation. Perhaps to help those more junior thoughts and beliefs to see the existentialist despair being captured in so few words wrapped in the tension of the syncopated guitar melodies to make it all the more enlightening.

If it’s true what wikipedia says about the link to 1984 and Orwell’s 1984, that would be when I was a Junior in college listening to that album the year it was released. It’s funny looking back and realizing how is it I could see through the politically fabricated Orwellian divide Ronald Raygun was creating with his star wars fantasy. It’s not like I was tuned in to politics or world events by reading the NY Times or something like that. I was at a mostly conservative upstate college close to the Canadian border trying to find my way through life with the future ahead of me. With a major in physics and a heavy dose of visual arts. I was thinking I will need an engineering degree from the neighboring college to secure a good job, and I’d like to lose my virginity with a girlfriend I didn’t have.

To now where I uncovered the meaning with a similar link to the Orwellian nightmare that came out of my divorce in 2008. That is with the help of the states abusive power that denied me of all my property and rights for wanting to peacefully leave a relationship with the sociopathic tendencies that kept it complicated and aggravated to divert attention from where all the hopelessness was coming from. Maybe I understood those tendencies way back then without the ability to put in words what was being articulated in the songs I was listening to. That is, without the internet to know all the lyrics to the songs and the hundreds of reviews to say who did what for reasons we can’t know until we know and experience it for ourselves. To tune in with the sounds of the bass, drums, and guitars coming together to point the way.

Well thank you, it's not often I get complements for words I rarely share with others. I would be hard pressed to say what prompted me to create that login to write just that. Perhaps to help those more junior thoughts and beliefs into seeing the existentialist despair being captured in so few words wrapped in the tension of those syncopated guitar melodies that make made it all the more penetrating and enlightening.

But then again in 1984 when I was a Junior in college listening to this same titled album when it was released, I think I understood what I understand more clearly now with the experiences and ability I did not have to express it in words. Songs I listened to without the internet to look up the words with all the meaning and reviews that were written for reasons we like to think, but can’t know until we know ourselves.

And now the words I wrote almost three years ago come back to me with a compliment sent to one of my emails, which I must have used to register those thoughts with that pseudonym. Thoughts I also see how they came from that place I left three years prior in 2008 with a clarity that has become frighteningly more clear from the depths I have gone to see the patterns that emerge from our soul with the relationships we have been living with much more than the fear and antagonism that comes with them to keep us working in opposition. As a metaphor if you like, in that relationship between the sun and the moon without all the attachments to the beautiful lines formed by the trees and the clouds. The obscurations that fill us with the judgments we pass, not noticing how we are looking at the same thing going round and round from different points of view. That is ourselves with the care we must take to wonder what it all means.

My name is Christopher Douglas Dillon. For your complement I'd be happy to interpret any song of your choosing. I can be reached at cdrdillon using any one of the most popular extensions. A complement to you for a substantial body of work with all those collaborative experiments however they worked to rub things the wrong way in order to get such rare gems to shine on under the various guises being called before the court of King Crimson.

Good job to the previous comments as they do allude to the ultimate meaning. We tend to think with our "rational" individualistic thought filled minds that create our identities that a relationship is about two individuals compromising to make love work. Unfortunately in one way or another we fail to find the true love we think is about to come around the corner and rescue us from all psychotic behavior that comes out in the relationship that turns into aggression, rejection, grasping and clinging. That's from all the fears and desires we try to hide but are the true motivators that started it all.

So where is the love that conquers all? It's hidden in the three. But who or what is this third wheel that brings balance and makes it possible to move such a heave load forward. All those good and rotten apples we bring to the relationship now heaped together in one cart. Without the third wheel we keep teetering from side to side spilling apples all over the road. Franticly trying to pick them up and put them back in the cart before someone else comes along and grabs them, or we start running over them and stepping on each other’s apples saying there rotten....

You can call the third wheel God’s truth that can make a pair perfect. That is if they can follow his way above their own way. You can say in Christ or with Buddha nature. Another way to look at it is through the Triyana symbolic representations in Vajrayana Buddhism or yin and yang in Zen/Taoist traditions. Substitute your own religious beliefs here. Just remember it’s only a belief full of imperfections, not the ultimate truth in love that it points to.

If you want to look at it through mythology or the self then the third is the union of the two individual subconscious’s uniting as one in love. That’ why love can change you so much. It comes from the subconscious which can make things easy for you or difficult if you deny everything it has to tell you about life. The problem is you have to work through your stupid stubborn ego that tells you your right and deserve everything and everybody else’s stupid ego is getting in the way, or....

False love can be two egos that agree until all that baggage starts to come out. They don’t call it an intimate relationship for nothing. So in the end we all have to work through a lot of stuff with that person we love. Each soul mate pair will have unique challenges, but if they can get through it they will come to see the true reason they were attracted to each other in the first place, three of a perfect pair. Don’t help each other work it out and you will repeat the same mistakes over and over, or you will write great songs about it without realizing what you are writing about. Love can also make you crazy, yes? No, this life you have which prevents you from seeing the love within yourself that wants to unite with whoever that other person is in your life is making you blind deaf and dumb. Just open your eyes and see how crazy this world is without true love.
