Manchester Orchestra – Mighty Lyrics 14 years ago
I've listened to this song lots and form what I can tell I think its about religion. The lead vocalist of the band went to a religious school, this song is written in the perspective of him talking to someone who has faith.
"Look straight in the eyes of the hopeless", they often call those who lack faith as hopless, and as 'refuse2loose' said, ""It's not like I was lost for a purpose, I lost purpose and purposefully froze" he pretty much explains how he has lost is own faith and how easy was to do so, all you have to worry about is breathe, you can't swing if you dont use your arms, its sort of logical in a way, I think it ties in with evolution in the snese that there is no direct purpose from what comes with christianity . "So be good if you think it can save you yeah, be good if you're comfortably numb And i will do my best to breathe with"
