| THANK YOU. Some doltish folks 'round here. Wow, I guess Rob Crow's singing papier mâché!? LOL. WTF? They tried to spell it. | |

Despite reading through a few pages of short and also verbose comments and/or interpretations, the best and, in my opinion, probably most accurate portion of anything I read was, "This song is felt rather than heard." Thank you for reading. |

| FORTY MINUTES!? Whatever, Dude. Nice try. You'll probably try to make me join your cult or something. Child sacrifice is a sick thing. | |
| Mumford & Sons – After the Storm Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This song has a most definite spiritual connotation. If it's not so, the author has a fixation on Christian ideas and/or practices. | |

| I believe you absolutely pegged it, in fact. | |

| Simply in response to the previous comment, if you, "cry alone, die alone, pray alone and stay alone" I believe you'll feel pretty guilty about the decision you made. All the rest of that information just reads too deep for this song. There aren't even lines to read between and extrapolate so many details. | |

| You've surely hit the nail on directly on the head, Squako!! Unfortunately, my congratulations come nearly 9 years after you added this interpretation. | |

| Since I first heard this song I cannot stop, it's ridiculous. YouTube needs a repeat function or something, to make my listening experience work right. His lyrical attitude is typically enjoyable, and the strumming pattern/rhythm is phenomenal. Chalk yet another great song up for Mike Kinsella. | |

| Ya know, I really have no way of validating this, but I believe that your initial paragraph is in some way accurate. Perhaps I'm crazy and my intuition is misleading (or worse, it's false), but that just fits too well to have missed completely. I'm a quite pleased you posted this interpretation, Jackie. Good form! | |

| If you enjoy this song, navigate your browser to YouTube and watch Jen Buxton cover it. IT IS AMAZING!! It's outside and doesn't have the greatest sound quality, but her voice just permeates the air. I wish I could reside in Australia; would've killed to have watched it live. | |

I really don't care to illicit my own interpretation of this song's lyrical ramble. In fact, we probably won't know the true score unless the writer comes forth about what moved him to write it. If that should occur, I trust I shall someday discover that explanation, if it is indeed of any reward to me. HOWEVER, I have been to Mykonos once and I had one of the most magical experiences of my life the afternoon/night I spent there. I was on a Grecian cruise and it was one of our first stops before Santorini, Patmos and one other, I believe. Anyway, on this trip I met the most amazingly astute, beautiful and indelible woman I've ever known, who was from from Los Angeles. I reside in Missouri and this woman holds the keys to my heart, wherever she has taken her deisidaimonia. After arriving at Mykonos, we shopped, enjoy many gyros and loved the company of each other, without yield. That night, we sat on the roof of our hotel, finished our Amstels and talked through the night. All the while, the stars seemed to be within our arms' reach. Early in the morning, as we grew weary, I returned her to her room, both of us fatigued and soon found my own. I did not sin against God with this woman, yet, to this day, hail it the best night of any I'll live to see. This summer, in June actually, it will have been seven years ago. Mykonos stole my love. For those reasons alone, I enjoyed this song. |
