| The song never references "giving yourself to Gawd" He only uses the word god for emphasize his sentences, like when people say oh my god, it is meant for exclamation and is not really in reference to a god or gods, this band isn't shy about using religious/spiritual concepts in their lyrics and they would likely not dance around the fact so to speak, this song is about a person who on self reflection realized materialism was a worthless pursuit as it was unending and didn't bring the person happiness, so he decided to give his wealth away to make him and others happier, a great lesson in this day and age where so much worth is placed on material possession and accruing wealth which is beyond anyone's need in one lifetime to the detriment of the people who the money would otherwise go towards feeding and assuring any sort of standard of living for them. | |

Its about a him and his girlfriend breaking up and her pretending to not recognise him and leaving him in the past, but beneath all of that he still remembers her as who she used to be, but he's about to give up on getting the relationship to work but he's questioning his actions because he can see how good things used to be between them, he hopes she will learn from this mistake and come back. ....
