hmmm..well ive listened to this song on a loop for some time now and ive come to a conclusion about its meaning.totally totally sex.I think its speaking about the band's crazy sex episodes with random girld from their past. " i want to rock you like the 80scock blocking isn't allowed" kiedies was used to getting his way with the girls "who said three is a crowd" - threesomes obviously then he talks about Maggie and sheila fighting over him and how in the end he went for maggie "Rain dance Maggie Advances to the final Who knew that she had the goods" note this is the 2nd verse, after weve heard the chorus hinting at something but not quite knowing what it is. only in the 2nd verse does kiedis reveal its meaning "Little did I know her body was one delicious vinyl To your neck of the woods I want to lick a little bit" neck of your woods i want to lick a little bit..goes without saying what that means but for those not trained in the art of subtext hes talking about going down on Maggie and only now you can understand how crazy this sex episode was as the chorus turns from simple words with no lyrics to clear record of maggie instruction to kiedis in bed: (Hey Now! We’ve got to make it rain somehow) She told me to And showed me what to do Oh Maggie makes it in a cloud maggie gives him direct instructions how to pleasure her. ive put the first 2 lines in brackets bacause they actually make more sense after "and showed me what to do". try this : she showed him what to do in order to make it(aka her private part) "rain". rain is a metaphore for the very rare and elusive female ejaculation. throughout the song kiedis keeps reminding us that this experience maggie gets, her time with him is limited, a one nighter: "But not for long girl It’s in a song girl ‘Cause i’ll be gone bye bye bye yeah" thus ending his record of the time spent with this girl. I know it all sounds pretty out there, but if you listen carefully youll see the sense behind this observation. Cheers :) |
