| Elbow – With Love Lyrics | 14 years ago |

after seeing Elbow perform songs from this album, I know this song to be about nothing simpler than going out and getting drunk with mates. Garvey uses this song to describe the antics him and friends would get up to. 'I give my liver to see you' expresses this perfectly. however, there is still the element of memories there, implied with 'you been goin' see through'- as in going grey? before I knew this I had no idea what this song was about, but now the answer seems obvious. I love this song for expressing Garvey's cheeky and mischievous nature for going out with friends, 'you're sweetheart probably hates me', I'm sure she does if she gets a drunken husband home every night! It reminds us of the good times we share with those we love, no matter how old we get. |
