First of all, I just want to say "Thank You" for writing such thoughtful and thorough interpretations of the lyrics of unDeveloped (and of the album as a whole). I found them all very interesting and well-written, which is a bit of an oddity for posts on the Internet! With that said, I do have a couple of small things to add: "Those who forgot something...doomed to something it, I forget." ^I believe the quote you're looking for there is "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" - George Santayana ;) Also, it's just a coincidence (and sorry for snooping through your profile, DrGarlic :p), but I see your birthday is February 2nd - Groundhog Day. For those unfamiliar with the meaning of "Groundhog Day" as a term, Wikipedia has this: "The phrase "Groundhog Day" has entered common use as a reference to an unpleasant situation that continually repeats, or seems to." Also this, in reference to the movie: ""Groundhog Day" has been considered a tale of self-improvement which emphasizes the need to look inside oneself and realize that the only satisfaction in life comes from turning outward and concerning oneself with others rather than concentrating solely on one's own wants and desires." Seems to fit in with the above quote, and more significantly, with the themes of unDeveloped, eh? |
