Noah and the Whale – Give a Little Love Lyrics 14 years ago
I disagree with dga415. I think a7s9k has a valid interpretation of the song. I do agree that the song is a double entendre with the core of the Christian faith, but I think the other side of it is about someone who is dying/thinking of death, and they just want to get the message out there: LOVE is what matters. Life is short and, really, there's no reason not to love. (I also contend that this message is also part of the Christian faith; Love while you live because God loves you. You will always be loved, even after death.)

...I just read on to see that dga415 hadn't meant to post that directly to a7s9k...but oh well, my point stands. =^.^=

The viewpoint that the song is about someone who is dead, speaking with someone whom they used to love... I adore that interpretation. I heard this song for the first time while writing a very emotional (fictional) story; It is about a pastor who must tell his granddaughter that, at the age of 22, she will be dead: His granddaughter has three years to live, maximum. The story is about how her imminent death shakes his faith in love itself, but he finds it impossible to stop loving even in the wake of such heartache. And this song is EXACTLY that!

Life is short, love is so much more.
