| 30 Seconds to Mars – Vox Populi (A Call To Arms) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| He doesn't. He uses religion in many of his his songs and it is strictly mediphorical. | |
| 30 Seconds to Mars – Search and Destroy Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
"A million little pieces we've broken into/ A million little pieces I've stolen from you" I think he's saying that we all are made-up of little pieces and those pieces are "stolen" by other people to make us into the people we are. We all contribute to they way other poeple act and what they believe. |

Grab your gun Time to go to hell I'm no hero Guilty as charged Search and destroy Found my faith Living in sin I'm no jesus But niether are you, my friend I'm a whore Above the broken dreams The simple answer Is never what it seems... That was the only part that I had a problem with. The rest is repetition. |

| That't true. on a live version he says "this is a song... called "The Kill". But don't be sad it's a happy song; about losing your mind". It's one of my favorite quotes and summarizes this song very well... if you know what this song means. | |

| Jared does not get consumed in what other people believe in. It's the motive of believining them. haven't you heard "alibi" or "100 suns" he doesn't care for the titles that define someone (christian, jewish, gay, bi...)only who they are as people. | |
| 30 Seconds to Mars – Battle of One Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| He is using "falling" the same way some artist use darkness, as a good thing. He wants to fall back into his own mind and world. You can try as hard as you want to but you aren't going to stop him from doing what he wants. | |
| 30 Seconds to Mars – A Modern Myth Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
This is one of the more simple songs by 30 Seconds to Mars (and one of the best in passion and skill). In it's simplicity it can have a very broad meaning; we can look at it from the dedication aspect with Andrew Voluck or we can look at other possible meanings (this bands music does have a habit of having multiple meaning). It can be said that this is about two people braking-up, just a bitter-sweet goodbye with friends, or a life-style change but either way it is, it is certain that it is about a painful divition of some form. "Did we create a modern myth/ Did we imagine half of it" indicates that as life was rolling along, they didn't know what was really happening in their lives: like a girl who is being conroled by a boyfriend and doesn't know it, or vice-versa(Which is probably happening to you right now without you knowing it)and they are just figuring it out now. The song goes on to say what is really happened and why it's a bad thing like when it's said "to buy the truth, and sell a lie" (telling the truth costs something so you lie to gain something) "the last mistake before you die" (nothing is more valuable than living truthfully by being yourself). Th goodbyes refer to him leaving what ever caused this (illness, a person...) behind. Becuase this song is limited in it's discriptions it is left to the lisener to fill in the blanks. Everyone can relate to this song if they wanted to. A truly great piece of work expressed by someone with truly great skill. |

| I completely agree with lyricaljoy. I just wanted to add that the band said in an interview that this song is spacifiacally about the Columbine shooting. It is a very good written song that keeps the tragity in our memory but I can't stand to listen to it anymore. Im live in Colorado Springs(Where Columbine High School is) And I am constinly reminded of the event and even typing this right now is leaving me shaking, when I listen to this song I start to cry. This song is a good reminder to this event. | |

| I agree with most of what you are saying. the only part I would comment on is the suggestion of religion. I believe, Jared is speaking of morals in general. Although religion is a major part of how a persons morals are interpreted, it is not the only factor. | |
