"When you grow up in a house like that- it is all you know. If your dad was a roaring alcoholic who abused you and your mom, I completely understand why you'd feel the need to abuse others. It isn't your fault. It is part of who you are. But, you can change. There is hope." Sorry but I don't believe that's true. Don't ever accept that as an excuse for a person being abusive. My fiance of 5 years was abused as a child for 7 years of his childhood and he is one of the kindest, most gentle considerate people I have ever met. Just because you have gone through trauma doesn't mean you have to follow down the same path. Everybody has the chance to make their own decisions. |
