alright first lets go over the flowers he talks about meanings: the flower daisy represents purity, innocence, and loyal love, so hes saying the flower lily represents chasisty and virtue the flower rose is a symbol of love and romance the flower jasmine represents modesty, elegance, and grace i see this song as he was cheating on the girl but trying to keep it from her and everywhere he goes with her hes tempted to tell her because of his love towards her the garden represents a place of safety in his mind where he feels his secrets safe the runner represents his conscience biting at him so when he buries the runner in daisies it means he's trying to convince himself hes innocent the burning of the evidence in the chimney represents him trying to forget about what he did and the spy is simply his conscience so when he buries the spy in lilies hes trying to convince himself he has virtue and chasisty "I sense a leak inside my phone now From all the lies I have told I know he has your private number And soon he'll make that vicious call" the leak in the phone is his conscience wanting to tell her what hes done and he knows he cant hold back the truth much longer so when he says "so now he'll fertilize the roses" he means that he held back is conscience and enriched his love for her the last part he says "now were dancing through the garden, and what a garden i have made" the garden is the lie hes living in now and the girl has no idea when he says "now that death will grow my jasmine, i find it soothing I'm afraid" it means that hes lost all modesty and yet somehow he finds it soothing that because he got away with the last part hes saying that she should have no reason not to believe him and thatd hes not lying when he tells her hes being lying for a long time |
