It might be sexually oriented but really, who cares? This song was an instant classic as soon as it came out. However, it didn't make it to the top charts in America. but it did almost anywere else. No, america was to busy listening to stuff like AC/DC and Journey, or whatever it was. Fact is, they couldn't recognize real music when it was there. They all thought that Scorpions were all love and quite songs so America never gave them a chance. I find it funny that when websites and books talk about the greatest bands from the classic rock period, no one ever mentions the Scorpions. and if they do its so briefly its easy to miss... They deserve more respect than what they get. |

I love this song! i think its pretty obvious what it's talking about... I think the scorps are the best band ever, with no exceptions. I mean how many other bands have been going for 46 years? Not very many! I can't believe that they did their farewell world tour!!! they can't retire!!! and what makes me so mad is the fact that i missed their concert when they came to vegas!!!! oh, that made me so mad!!! i still haven't gotten over it and that was over a year ago. anyway great song, never gets old. Scorpions have earned their place in history even if all the charts and everything won't say it. They are the BEST!!! |

I believe its a breakup song as well. He's trying to break free of her but she's trying to hold on to him. He's figured out that everything she has to say is a lie, and she's only going to hurt him even more. I have to agree with bb4christ. ROCK ON ATR!!! |

Personnally i didn't really care for this song, it is good though, just not one of my favorites. I did love the intro to it though, Now Let Them Tremble. Now THAT was good. I couldn't find that on here to post for it though..... ROCK ON ATR!!! |

Am I like the only one who likes ATR or something? No one else is posting on these songs..... I thought this song was CRAZY!!! I love the higher pitched screaming in it, just added a perfect edge to it. It makes me think of someone who you broke up with that won't let you go and is always sticking around. not only to you but to everyone else apparently. "You assume that you're my best friend No life, just consume what you attach to Failure, now hang on others and try to ill the hollow." Also it sounds like someone who just can't get any recoginition from anyone else. Sounds like their trying to get into some "Cool" group or whatever. Trying everything they can to join. "Pathetic, weak, laughable You live to follow wantless admiration Shameless you dig for status, on your knees crawl." Thats what I think at least. ROCK ON ATR!!! |

I liked this one. Very powerful, very good. The part of the song that really brings out the meaning (to me at least) is this "if I rely and I know the strength in those who taught me of the power in the ties that bind" I can actually draw some religious connections there. If we make commitments and ties we need to honor them, even when times put a strain on them. "Ties that bind." It brings out who you really are, if you'll do what say, or not. That's my take at least. ROCK ON ATR!!!! |

I can't believe no one has posted a comment on this song yet!! I thought this was a great song by ATR, they did a great job on lyrics, guitar work, and drums. The message to me is that we need to that we need to stand up to those who oppress us, "Their plan will lead you to failure Embrace this wisdom let this wash away And knowledge drives our choices If we posses we sustain No more deception, you must make your own way Our dreams are what we are inside And when we close our eyes We see our future No longer will we compromise Our fate is not defined By right we choose it." To me that's saying that our fates are our own, and no one else can decide for us. "By right we choose it." Also that its not bad to dream big. Even though things may seem to have reached a rock bottom for you continue to dream and choose your own way and your own fate. Don't ever let anyone else take that from you. "Our dreams are what we are inside And when we close our eyes We see our future." thats my take anyway. ROCK ON ATR!!! |

This is my favorite song by ATR! I feel that it has a good message to us people that we need to stand up for those who are weaker than we are. As they say "We are aware and know the hearts of fellow man So let us act as such and help our brothers to stand." We need to stop senseless killing. "Ignorance will crush us, destroy all that we have." It's the job of those who know how, and have the power to, stand up for their fellow man when the time come and presents itself.
