this song is about how he's was feeling depressed, but he was able to pull himself out of his slum and he's telling his story of how he did it. He know he will never have it fully figured out. "This black cloud still follows me around" he knows it will always follow him around, but instead of of it letting it get the better of him (him being trapped in his own hell) he's gonna fight (he's a fighter) until he get out of his slump and is feeling good and a little less insane. he's not afraid, fear is a powerfully emotion especially if you let it control you. Eminem is really married to the game, his gift is a curse as he said, but he's putting that away he lost him self and found his way back. He went through his own "Recovery". He's helping the people who've been down this road he went on, the people who are blessed with curses, the people who are depressed, or what ever there reason for fighting (for a loved one) he's letting you know he's on your side and that your not alone. i originally thought this song was about suicide and him trying to prevent his friend from doing this, but when i started to think about the lyrics i thought, wait this makes more sense if he's talking about himself. the course " i wish you would step back from that ledge my friend, you could cut ties with all the lies that you've been living in" i was thinking he was referring to himself, he lost him self (probably trying to get some girl) and he saw some horrible parts of himself and he never wants to see that part of him again "and if you do not want to see me again, i would understand". he's saying hey we all make mistakes, we all see bad parts of our selves, don't worry about it realize that you've lost you're self and cut the ties with lies that you were living in and move on don't dwell on it. so basically he's referring to himself as the angry boy in the song. he writes these songs to tell his stories, and to help other out with theres. Even though he maybe wrong, (which he probably thinks he is) he uses this famous conspiracies to get the point across that the government can say what ever they want, and he brings that point across to the public in this song. |

This song is about a relationship that is trying to start and there are several problems with it. My favorite line in the song is "You're a thief and a witch but I love you to death, you steal my heart and curse under your breath." this line goes with the rest of the song which is about tom battling himself and this girl to get her. the fight is killing him and at this point he still wants her, but after all thats happened he doesn't really care any more. "The one thing that I can most willingly prove, that when you are gone I'll be fine without you."His last thoughts in the song is we'll see where it goes from here. |

first of all this song's name is the instrumental and i think the song is about people who are very smart and observant and it gets them into a lot of trouble. The course of the song says "he never lies cause he never said anything at all". This tells me the the person in the song sees things that he know he shouldn't be seeing and he must protect what he's seeing in fear of being exposed, cause that'll make him look bad.He feels like his life revolves around this box like if it was exposed it'd be the death of him. He trys to stop looking for these things, but soon realizes that he can't stop. This is almost a nightmare for him but he keeps watching hoping he can find information (gossip) that will protect him from questioning. He protects the box and doesn't stop paying attention to protect himself, and to not use his knowledge for evil. He never lies cause he the awkward person who will not say anything in a conversation to not call someone out for something he knows that true. Basically the song is about gossip. |

this sond is about how Stephen and a girl he liked just went through a hard time, they both have bitter feelings toward each other. The girl wants sex, but he is still hurt and doesn't want to make a mistake by giving her what she wants and having her be done with him. This song shows how he battles his mind love and hate. He at one point gave up on her toward the beging of the song, the though out the song it shows how he gains strength and how he gains confidence that he can get her. He uses an Icarus metaphor to show even though he was burn down by the sun (light which represents hope) he just like Icarus will try again. "take the moment of hope and let it run". He eventually gets the girl in the end even though he was so close to giving up. So Stephen is trying to say no matter how hurt you've been as long as you have hope DON'T GIVE UP and you may get the girl or what ever you want to get. HAVE HOPE. |

Cudi is happy and that's the only thing you can every really hope for (we know this just from the mood of the song). He's trying to stay happy despite what other people are saying to him. he knows he's gonna get judged any way, he'd rather be judged for smoking weed as opposed to someone judging his personality or the way he looks... He's happy and doesn't give a flying fuck about anyone else thinks. I do think this song is about the AIDS thing, but i think it has a deeper message. The course brings this to my mind when he suddenly goes to the part about him not feeling so insecure, because i feel the same way about the whole course. Every one has there problems, know that you yourself just like everyone else is not perfect nor should you expect them to be.Once you realize this you'll feel a lot better and have a better out look on people and life. Not everyone is out to get you nor are you trying ti screw everyone over sometimes it just happens. And remember it's just a matter how you solve your problems, at least attempt to solve them too. |

this song's about someone's who's been abused. This abuse caused the person emotional problems and really messed them up. It made them anti-social to even there own friends. Line's like "the guy who put his hands on you has got nothing to do with me" show that. Stephan Jenkins wants thing to go back to how they were before this person was harmed. He's trying to remind them that there friends and you should come back and rebuild your confidence and hang out with the ones you used to love. lines like "my fingers catch sparks of the thought of touching you" so that he wants to help her through it. But she's not letting him close enough to help. The whole song is sad and it screams that someone's in trouble from themselves after a huge blow they've taken and it's killing who they once were emotionally. |

I think this song is about a symbolic war between Mark and Tom the whole album reminds me of world war 2 when i listen to it so it haas the war type feeling. Tom also said that the next album I-Empire was supposed to finish this album. When i listen to I-Empire it sounds like what he would do if he had his own little war and how he'd focus on love between other people. So whit this album it sounds like he is introducing where he wants to take his band away from the bad feelings left behind from blink 182 and move on to happier thoughts. Which makes sense because this album is much happier than WDNTW. The follow up album Love also suggest to me that they on on a happier track. So basically this song starts off the path of ava with the emotions Tom felt at the time, and he is going to take a chance by trying to start a whole new genre of music and other things, like having a free album (Love), and seeing where that takes him |
