I think this song is trying to send out a small subliminal message of how you should 'smile' no matter what. And if you watch the music video, you see how depressing it is to see other people around you. Then there's those lyrics which say "And that's why I smile, it's been a while Since every day and everything has felt this right And now you turn it all around And suddenly you're all I need The reason why I smile" I think she's saying that everyone has a reason to smile, you just have to find it. Through experience myself, i've found myself sitting in corners, on streets in remote places, just beating myself up or just crying at the current events or past events. This song made me forget about all the negative things and be a bit more optimistic and think about the things that i do have, and smile about that and live life SMILING |
