Well 'Affirmation' the truth of life, there is not much to say or explain about this song cause the song in its self is an explannation but here are some stuff I looked up "I believe the sun should never *set upon an argument" *'Set' was some sort of egyptian ruler that had the power of the 'sun' who ended up killin his brother and chopping him to pieces. All this cause of an 'argument' they had. (ok so I really chopped that story). I think that this line could mean that we should go over board with problems and try to fix them instead. "I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been *burned" In an ancient civilization there was the tradicion that if your spouse died the people in town would *burn you alive to prove that you really loved and apreciated him/her. |

Well, I dont like Alanis very much but this song in particular caught my attention cause it deals with a whole lot of emotion, and I think that this song can mean diferent things to diferent people cause its very. ."Opened" to diferent points of view. My personal take on it, its also something much like the original meaning of it. You know just someone that you think makes you happy but is actually destroying you and you dont know you really dont need him/her but that he/she needs you. |
