| One of the greatest studies of obsession ever written, and a beautiful song to boot. God knows where this story came to him from, but I'm glad it did. First heard it when I was about 11 or 12 - it haunted me then, and still does today. The meaning is simple - an Irish woman abandons her life and family to make a pilgrimage to the grave of Elvis, believing that she is his wife. But the presentation is superb. A sad, beautiful song of mental illness and misplaced love. | |
