[off-topic]If more artists where like this, this website would not be needed. Tim Minchin clearly states what he wants to state! Most artists muddy their message and state "no, I want you to think for yourself and interpret my song the way you want" (which is simply an exercise in bad communication) or sing gibberish that simply sounds good (nothing inherently wrong with that).[/off-topic] In case some people still miss the "meaning" about this song (probably because their bad at English) I'll try and write a short summary: It's a story about a rationalist trying not to spoil the mood of an evening with pointless (but fun) debate, but eventually caving in to the consistent irrational points one of the guests tries to make. Finishing with a punchline about the fact that for all his hard work he is perfectly aware of the fact that she will probably never change her mind. |
