Never Shout Never – Coffee and Cigarettes Lyrics 14 years ago
Maybe this connection is a bit forced, but when I listen to this song I get the feeling that coffee and cigarettes are actually melancholy and hope. Don't we (smokers) smoke when we feel melancholic and lonely? And isn't the bottom of the coffee cup something used to predict future? Also, relating this to the song, it actually makes sense to me.

(I apologise in advance for possible grammar mistakes)

I am nicotine and caffeine addicted, especially on flat, grey days. Coffee and fags are those vices that allow me to make my life a little more bearable.
I think this song shows love for the little pleasures of life. Smoking, drinking coffee, singing "cares away" when you feel lonely, wishing there was someone who could share the warmness and intimacy of the interiors with you when it's raining outside.
Watching your life "flow" and realizing that every day feels the same. Having friends who continuously go to parties, but not fancying anything but closeness with someone who can share life pleasures with you.
Feeling down but never giving up, hoping a better day will come.

It's unbelievable how much this song describes my life.
