| I think the last commenter is right on this one. I think people are digging way too deep into this one. If I had to add anything Id say that what I got from the song is a feeling of humility or insignificance or peace or maybe all three. Josh seems to be accepting of being an ant on a spinning rock. For him the sun is god enough. | |

| I cannot believe there arent anymore comments on such a spectacular song. This song feels like it couldve easily been slipped into the 80's animated Heavy Metal movie. Right in line with songs like the titular Heavy Metal or All of You (both of which performed by Don Felder of the Eagles whom in a round about way influenced the name of the band-- Eagles of Death Metal). | |

When you replace "dollar" with "daughter" it changes the whole meaning of the song to me. Turns it into a song about somebody giving in for somebody else. I'm pretty sure dollar is the correct lyric there and if this song isn't about a gold digger I'd be surprised. For that dollar She's a star tonight To me this means she's up for the Oscar on how well she preforms (lies) for the dollar. She gave up the ghost inside To "give up the ghost" is to die. I think what they are trying to say is what had to be given up for the money, money, money. |
