Great song. I think it's about a man meeting and falling in love with a lady vampire. 1st verse He admires her from a distance. She has a pale skin. Wonders why he only sees her at night. 2nd verse He meets her face to face. When attracted to people you look deep into their eyes. Eyes are the window to the soul. Her soul is intense but it is also distant as she is no longer human. 1st bridge He's at her place so all is going well ;-) Like in some of horror movies when the character falls endlessly before suddenly waking in their own bed as if they were waking from a bad dream (waking happens in 3rd verse). He feels like he's close to the devil in the presence of this vampire. 3rd verse He wakes early in the morning but she is already gone (she left before sun rise). She wants to see him again and subtly leaves a note letting him know he can only see her at night. 2nd bridge The pair are passionately in love. Few humans know her name because they sleep when she's awake, but he knows her name. You can knock her down but you can't beat her because vampires are immortal (providing they avoid holy water, stake through the heart, direct sunlight etc). 4th verse He wants her so is willing to wait till night time to she her. |
