Pete actually wrote this song about me after meeting me on November 12, 2009. He was doing a show at Push Ultra Lounge in St. Petersburg, Florida. I had purchased tickets for myself and an underaged friend of mine. After we found out she couldn't go in, we waited for him outside of his tour bus before the show (which started at 7.) He came out. I was so excited to see him, since I had been a fan of his since 2001. I remembered seeing the music video for "Strange Condition" so even though I was incredibly excited, I tried to be really calm, introduce myself, and explain our situation to him to see if there was anyway he could get her inside. He explained that there was nothing he could do, which was disappointing to say the least. I gave him a burnt CD with a thank you note written on it thanking him making music. I got my picture with him, and met his entire band. They were all incredibly nice and down-to-earth. Especially his drummer, who I think was thrilled to be recognized from the music video "Close." My friend left. Pete walked back outside and saw me sitting on a ledge by myself. He looked at me like he felt sorry for me. "Are you coming?" he said. "Yeah, I'm just waiting for my other friend to get here." "...Okay. See you in there." I have blue eyes and I was practically begging him to let her inside. I think he felt guilty that he didn't let her in. I hope he liked the CD I gave him. I wrote on the CD for him to call me if he liked my voice and wanted to use me as another "Scarlett Johannson." I never got a call. But this song came out. And I had to wonder. Pete, if you're reading this, can you please confirm or deny? Either way, you gave us a great night of memories. I wish I could be your Precious Stone... |
