| the song is heavily about brann's experience losing the person closest to him, but it's also about brent's near death experience. i think the line "fallen from grace cuz i've been away too long" has a different meaning for each of them but i gathered from interview's that line was more about brent coming back from the incident with system of a downs' drummer. and brann's father never beat him or skye- that is a misconception. and i'm not sure i agree with him blaming himself for her death, as much as i feel he's just suffered the greatest loss someone can feel (his personal 'crack in the skye' if you will). yes, with death come feelings of guilt and blame but i feel this is more a beautiful tribute to a beautiful girl than an admittance of guilt and bad feelings. while it can seem a bit depressing, i think his sister's relationship to the album is about love and strength rather than guilt or remorse. though that's only my interpretation. | |
