@[Mr:6363]. Blue Sky almost, not quite, I once had a bad breakup and I had really liked this song early on in the relationship, for the months right after this song could have me in tears |

I think that some of the lines correspond to the world at the time. The wily japenese correspnds with one of the radio brodcasts "the replacment for the atlantic conveyor will be built in japan" and the line "if it weren't for the nips, being so good at building ships, the yards would still be open on the clyde". Also in the film it shows the english workers goofing off during their shifts while the japanese worker keeps on working. Also the last lines are a reference to the Wall, specifically "waiting for the worms" |

I have looked at this songs lyrics and the surrounding songs lyrics (being a rock opera). I have peiced together that in Comfortably Numb Pink (the main character) is given a drug to allow him to perform (The Show Must Go On) the drug also makes him think he is a Fascist ruler and sends men against Gays, blacks and Jews at a concert (In the Flesh). He shows feelings somewhere (mentioned in a later song) and is chased by the worms (other Fascists). He attempts to escape (Run Like Hell) but realizes it is too late and gives up claiming he is waiting (this song) he is captured (end of this song) and realizes he wants to go home (Stop)
He is put on trial for showing feelings (the Trial) and is found guilty and is forced to tear down his wall (a metaphor for self-alienation) and exits the wall (Outside the Wall). Sidenote-this lines up with the film version |
