| I think the song has a number of different meanings. On the one hand, you could take it as them saying that it's easy to become a monster without even realizing. It starts out with simple, innocent things that one would relate to childhood. Then it gets more grown up, talking about adulthood, and the road to success. Then it completely changes and talks about power, and the abuse of it. It's sort of showing a person changing, how they started out as a regular kid and grew to become a dangerous world power. On the other hand, it could be making a statement about certain people, like the president, or America in general, and how we've abused our power. The song has a lot of layers to it. It could be taken in any number of ways. That's what's so great about it! | |
