I like the line, "Never knowing's like knowing too much."
So much is going on around Ophelia in the play - the murder of the king, Hamlet's plans for revenge and pretended madness, people like Polonius, Gertrude, etc. trying to determine the state of Hamlet's sanity. Everyone is trying to conceal something, or find something out - it's a chaos of ulterior motives with violent results (like her father's murder). Ophelia seems like she's overwhelmed and confused, and this might be what makes her retreat into insanity and kill herself.
That's my take on it, anyway. |

I agree with ausby - especially given the lyrics, "So don't you dare and try to walk away/I've got my heart set on our wedding day." Yikes!

I think that the line "But I found my mouth stitched shut with glossy pink thread," is a reference to Loki, the trickster god. In Norse mythology, Loki is famous for using persuasion and dishonesty to cause harm. He has mouth sewn shut by a dwarf Brokkr after Loki loses a wager to him, but probably Brokkr has the additional intent of prohibiting him from using lying words towards destructive ends.

| Tom Waits – Georgia Lee Lyrics

Yeah, juan gregory is right. Georgia Moses was a 12 year old girl who went missing and was murdered; Tom Waits made comparisons between her case and that of the similar tragedy that befell Polly Klaas. The Polly Klaas case garnered a lot of attention from her community and the media, while there was little attention paid to Georgia Moses' murder. When he asks, "Why wasn't God watching?" I think he is including her community, family, and humanity itself in that question.
