This is another TY song containing the wrong lyrics in a few very key points. They completely change the meaning of the song here in fact. First verse Es-so, es-so Pudding pie and Es-so, es-so (a newborn dying) Es-so, es-so A baby's cry I gotta do right if my body is tight, right? There is no better way to put it It even sounds like what you guys think it is do or die and Just re read the song after you add the corrected lyric. es-so es-so feelin free If it were about eating disorder or fueling your body, why do you think she would be feeling free from that? You will never feel free from eating, anyone with an eating disorder will tell you that. Eating is actually something those people normally don't want to do. Looking at it from that point Gentlemen logically it cannot be about eating disorder. Unless of course she plans to commit suicide by "I run over my own body with my own car" However I kinda doubt it... and the end is her feeling free because she is dead. but i think the "i run over my own body" line is more about how she created the problem she is talking about in the song. |

I like that interpretation alot matt it took a lot of intelligence to draw those lines even if they are incorrect. It's about abortion I'll prove it to you simply with only a few lines in a post coming you have to remember that the lyrics are wrong. |

It is also a commentary on american life right now though, the whole album is very anti abortion though "WHO KILL" AS IN who did you kill? Which is also a play off the statement its not killing because the babies not alive on its own yet. Has not developed a full working nervous system. Just look how this plays into es-so which is so blatantly about abortion you have to be stupid not to see it. |

Abortion It's very clear. She also states in plenty of interviews that she absolutely loves children. |

Cheerstricken that post was utter drivel, you honestly did put subjective lenses on. If you knew who this artist was and really paid attention to what music she makes and why. You would understand why your post and interpretation of the lyrics is kind of insulting to the concept of her music. tUnE-yArDs is not an artist that would only write about emotions song after song, especially a very basic break up song. That kind of thing is more reserved for bands without artistic sight. Yes some people put their lives into their work, (even great artists) but you find more independent artists (and I mean that in the real sense) actually make art out of their work. Create something new or try and make a point threw a song. That is something that break up songs just don't do and something I would never credit this brilliant artist with being shallow enough to do. She is also a very intelligent individual so giving it such a basic run through does her no justice. You came up with ties to the most basic of human emotion and actions in every case. Yes it is easy to put that vibe into any song written in a similar style. It is the knowledge you lack on the subject that makes you so very wrong here. It took me months worth of listening to the album to understand the higher concepts behind it. The synopsis I just wrote I listened to the song on repeat going over and over different parts just too make sure it was accurate. If I wanted to write a synopsis the size of yours on my point I could have I just didn't feel the need to pull the proof out of every line (believe me there is proof throughout the whole song) |

Look at the first part again even and reevaluate it with heroin in the mix (even using your extremely wrong lyrics) "If I represent the one that did this to you" (aka heroin) "Then can away the part that represents the thing that scarred you" (aka heroin) (pock marks heroin users get up and down there arms from needles are SCARS.) "I say, Get up, stand up, get up, stand up, get on it" (hurry up and take care of your addiction no one else will do it for you) Yessir, I am no longer who you thought this one would be" Nothing more basic then that is there? |

The song is about DRUG ADDICTION Taking a strong stance on heroin (the pray for me, bleed for me lines) "i'll bleed if you ask me" But I can't even write a proper synopsis because your lyrics are wrong at a few very key points. like "then can WE away the part that represents the thing that scarred you" "yes I am no longer who you thought this one would be" "I said what could be the business that business could work through" "lift up lift up lift up and pray for me" "im a victim yeah from a distance yeah im addicted yeah thats the bizness yeah" Listen to the end of the song very closely the main parts are sung with the "dont take my life away" seguing inbetween parts This is the last part of the song. You have to listen really carefully to hear the were in the second line. (if you have studio monitors use em its clear.) "whats the bizness yeah" "were the bizness yeah from a distance yeah im a victim yeah thats the bizness yeah" The song is about Drug addiction and how they do not want to fix or help it. Taking a strong stance on heroin (the pray for me, bleed for me lines) "i'll bleed if you ask me" seems to be her stating that whoever this is would do anything for heroin. Also too see track marks more clearly you pull the skin away from the body or "lift" it off the body, because they are more apparent when the skin is stretched. so we can say "lift up lift up lift up and pray for me" is like a plea for help, which the whole song is. She is simply analyzing why there is a drug problem in our society when it could easily be reduced with proper education. She comes to the conclusion AHHH THATS THE BUSINESS, and writes a song about it from the perspective of the addicted who desperately need the help they are not getting from the govt. Who is all to happy to lock them up in jails for their problems. THATS THE BUSINESS SEE. |

Sorry to tell you that you are completely and wholeheartedly wrong here. You can get a good idea for the albums theme if you really listen to what she says in "My Country" This is an album of activism not emotions and songs of lost love. Pretty basically stated throughout the whole album too if you just pay attention to the mood and all of the songs. |
