I love the lyrics of this song, but what really brings me back to it time and time again is the lyrical timing in reference to the music. The whole song is brilliant. Very powerful. |

It was all nailed above, except the confusion on "the mechanized hum of another world". I think it refers to him envisioning his life inside of a prison, where everything is done on a schedule, and "no sun is shining". I remember the phrase "They'll be piping daylight to you in the slammer" IE no sun is shining.
I don't think cyborgs were involved in this one. And did I mention the killer guitar intro? I could listen to the beginning over and over and still get chills from it. |
