| Chino said a lot of his lyrics aren't necessarily about him, so it could be a loved one of Chi's. It just sounds too romantic to be a "bro" song, but you never know. | |

I don't think this song is specifically about a prostitute, but a girl who has entered an industry of sex, whether that be stripping, prostitution or pornography; it doesn't really matter. I get this feeling that the first few verses are about her being held down by either morality, the church or even her parents, because she's involved in drugs and/or sex. Then it sounds like the perspective of the entire song is a narrative of her runaway lover, her partner in "crime." The phrase "roll over" is something we refer to as obedience, and that line is followed by what seems to be a sexual encounter. The final line of the chorus is "I'll smash right through your spotlight," which to me sounds like he either despises what she does for a living or he's attempted to reveal who she truly is inside. Again, the second verse goes back to her nomadic ways when she left what was holding her back. Drugs, moving back in with ex boyfriends, collecting her inheritance and blowing it all away, Vegas, stripping and everything else associated with vice and tragedy. The breakdown is the most unusual part. I feel it means that the narrator is attempting to express: 'everything that is wrong with you, is everything that I love most about you.' The video sheds a bit of light upon the meaning too. I think the concept of the video was to portray innocence lost, and strength gained. Again, it's a beautiful angel from the heavens that crashes in deserts of the wild west where bandits capture and tie her up. Unlike the characters from the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, however, the bandits are the Ugly, the cowboys are the Bad, and the angel is the Good.... gone Bad. There is some relevance to the lyrics and that concept. |
