Considering that this was recorded for the new Great Gatsby film, I love how this is written from Daisy's point of view. In my mind, it's really biting in terms of Daisy's silliness and vapidity, especially with that lyric "I don't wanna see what I've done". The chorus is gorgeous as well. |

I think the meaning of the song is possibly that's it a couple coming to the realisation that they have reached a point in their relationship where there is zero passion, and they are simply going through the motions?

I think this is about someone who is trying to decide whether or not he should commit suicide. The videotape could refer to his suicide note, whilst the mention of Mephistopheles may be the narrator's depression, reaching to "grab" him.
"You are my centre when I spin away" might be him talking about his partner/the one he loves, as if he is trying to reassure them that if he does die, it wasn't their fault.
I don't really know, as I'm a relatively new fan of Radiohead, but yeah, those are my thoughts anyway. |

Hmm. It's a brilliant song, and I absolutely love the lyrics. Very poignant... but I don't find myself needing to convert to vegetarianism. Though this song does stick with you, I'll agree that point. |
