Truly awesome song, truly awesome band. All about Mans ability to see something beatutiful and natural and then destry it. All in the name of dominance (banging the drum like monkey's do..) |

| I agree that the Waterboys are one of the greatest and most underated bands ever. This is so haunting and lyrical. | |

The 'terrible beauty' reffered to here is the name that the Irish poet W B Yeates gave to the IRA's emergence when the 'Troubles' took hold. Beautiful song, Beautiful Poet And now I know what they're are saying It's a terrible beauty we've made So we make our love on wasteland And through the barricades |

I agree, utterly awesome and heartbreaking. Lyrically moving and intimate Best band ever. This is the sea is their masterpiece. Bring em all in is remarkable, you are so beautiful is such a romantic song. The live version of too close to heaven is absolutely one of the best live songs. Check out David Gray live singing this years love..truly beutiful and haunting as well. |

It is absolutely one of the most beautiful and lyrically moving songs. I see it as a man who has had many false starts in love and is just beggining to give up on finding a true soulmate. I found my beautiful wife, Lorraine, after many unhappy relationships and she has seen me through terrible illness and troubling times and her love has never faltered. I love her and this years love has lasted and will last forever. |

Wow. I have been a fan of the Waterboys since buying an old cassette of This is the Sea about 20 years ago. I love the big music sound and also their more intimate stuff. But like I said, Wow. Very moving and powerful. The live version (seek it out on U tube) is imho one of the best live tracks ever. Musically it builds and sways and vocally it is just the most awesome that Mikes voice has ever sounded. Try out his solo album, Bring em all in, where he performs some beautiful songs. |
